Well, comparisons are odious. It is true that the RX1202FX is one cheap piece of gear. I bought one for $149 brand new on-line. It's a squat (depth wise) and short 3 sp. 12 input line mixer packed with many features. It's well worth $149 so to complain about its features or lack of features is pretty pointless. You do get what you pay for. On the other hand, you get a lot more what you pay for because this little mixer leaves its competitors in the dust. Fewer manufacturer's are making feature laden rack mount line mixers these days, and I bought the RX1202FX to replace my retiring 25 year old Roland M-12E mixer which served me well for many years. I noticed the bad reviews so I needed to add, this mixer works great but only for certain applications. I would agree that this might not be a satisfactory choice for a rock band or home studio but for a small meeting room, theater or church, it works great. If you are looking for a bit of reverb for backing vocals the efx are OK but they are certainly nothing to write home about. If your application has you singing to tracks or your music situation consists of only a keyboard and/or acoustic guitar with a vocal or two, this unit should work fine. We used this unit for one of our company's installs where it was hidden in a small custom wall rack where the rack door is actually a framed picture. Because of the size and type of... This was no different. It fits nicely in the rack (be careful on the corner...kind of sharp) and components are spaced nicely. |
