The Behringer Xenyx 1204USB is a multifunction, affordable mixer that provides 4 mono channels with premium XENYX mic preamps, neo-classic 3-band British-style EQ and 2 stereo input channels. Not all pieces are very robust, but it feels quite strong. It's very handy the USB built-in but be careful cause you can only record two inputs at the same time. The software is quite good although is the energy xt compact edition. So far so good, for the price is a very good unit, and you can record your instruments with an excellent quality and then create your own mp3. 10 of 12 people found the following review helpful great mixer, By This review is from: Behringer XENYX 1204USB 12-Input 2/2 Bus Mixer w/USB great mixer, works amazingly and is perfect for any artist looking to record music, voice or radio. the only problem is that i thought this mixer has buit-in FX since the model up from this looks almost exactly like this one. this mixer only allows two separate tracks recording at the same time, meaning the USB will only do TWO assigned TRACKS - like having two audio sources recording to your computer. the mixer will of course perform as mixers do and mix all inputs to a single audio output via USB onto a single track; as long as you're not expecting each input to have its own track on your software then you will be fine. do not confuse the "two tracks" comment, the mixer will do as expected just dont expect every input to be on its own track.also, when trying to record using the 'two track' mode you will sacrifice all inputs except for the two you want. very clean sound, usb is not susceptible to the 'dirka-dirka' noise you get when a cellphone is present but... At this price point I really figured to use it for a week (we needed it for a period of time we would be away from the main studio) and I'd sell it quick, or it would have broken down, or otherwise we would be divesting of this..however. The USB capability, and the ability to input stereo line in from two sources just made it perfect for our use. We do commercial production and VoiceOver for many national TV commercial projects, and this little mixer turned out to be way better than we ever thought. Not one of my clients noticed any difference in audio quality, and there are current spots running now that I swear were done in "the big room". Really amazing! Drivers were available online from Berringher for 64bit Win 7 platforms..and a LOT of real expensive audio interfaces don't offer that.
